Hi everyone! Girls, I hope you're all having and awesome season thus far. Boys, I hope you've all been playing lots of tennis in your off season. I've found a local tournament that many of you might be interested in! It is the Premier Athletic & Tennis Junior Spring Championships. This tournament will take place May 13-15 in Grandville at Ramblewood Tennis and Health. You must enter the tournament by May 9. If you would like to participate in this tournament click here. Participating in USTA tournaments will only make West Ottawa's Tennis Program stronger! Keep up the hard work.

Our goal as a program is to be playing as much tennis as possible over the summer. To help us do this there are several summer tournaments that would be perfect for us to enter. For more information on tournaments you should enter, visit the TOURNAMENTS tab at the top of the page.
In order to make us the best players we can be, we have to work on our strength and conditioning. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:50 to about 3:25 there will be tennis strength and conditioning after school. This is a free way to simply make yourself better! They are held at the north high school and all tennis players are welcome. These workouts are run by Coach Metz and the workouts are based specifically on making us stronger tennis players. Hopefully I will see you all there soon! Click Here to sign up for the Hope College Jr. Christmas Open! It starts December 26th and entries close on Sunday the 21st.

Click Here to sign up for the Hope College Jr. Open. This tournament is July 11-13 at the DeWitt Tennis Center. Thanks so much to everyone participating in the tournaments, I hope you are having as much fun as I am! Hey WO Tennis Players,
My name is Hannah Karp. I'm in 10th grade and I play on the Varsity team at West Ottawa. I started playing tennis about a year ago. I want to play in USTA tournaments, but I don't want to do it by myself. I'm making this site so that we can get people to all play together. Here's my goals: 1. To get a huge group of players who want to do tournaments together. 2. To pick certain tournaments that we will all try to play in together. 3. To find ways to make it really fun...party tent, food, hang out afterwards, etc. 4. Get better at tennis. We need to start somewhere, so here's what I want you to do...If you're interested in playing in some of the USTA tournaments this summer, leave a comment on this post, stating your name and that you are interested. I'll add you to our growing list. Also, try to think of some ideas of what you would think would make the tournaments more fun. This is the list of who is interested in playing in some USTA tournaments so far: High School Girls: Hannah Karp Lauren Kuiper Lauren Valentine Rachel Rutgers Emily Hofmeyer Makenna VanDyne Annika Anderson Casey Foster Jacklyn VandePoel Susan Fender Lateju Simmons Emily Van Dyke Middle School Girls: Chloe Karp Jolene Soriano Casey Westenbroek High School Boys: Mark VanderStoep Nick Schnobel Middle School Boys: Tyler Zoerhoff Dominic Aquino Tanner Drain Sam Duckworth Paul Stryker Brennan Schopp I want this list to get way bigger! If you are on this list, talk to other WO tennis players and try to get them to join too. |
